WE’RE GROWING!

Tiny Trees is opening 4 new schools in the fall of 2017.

In preparation we have promoted 4 current teachers. 
That means we’re hiring 12 teachers plus 3 AmeriCorps teaching residents.

The deadline for the 1st round of hiring is May 26.
The deadline for the 2nd round of hiring is June 30.

 

Philanthropy Coordinator:

Work closely with our CEO (We’ll be a fundraising department of 2!) to take Tiny Trees to the next level. Your work will help children across Seattle, King County, and Washington State.

Full time: 50% individual giving, 30% event coordination, 10% grant writing, 10% substitute teaching.
Range is $17.79 to $18.75 an hour (equivalent to a salary of $37,000 – $39,000 a year). Benefits are split between the 26 pay periods per year:

  • Health insurance stipend: $3,600/year
  • Retirement benefits (after six months of employment): $1,425/year
  • Technology stipend: $300/year.

Two weeks paid time off (PTO) plus 10 holidays (PTO) and some school closure days (total paid time off: 5 weeks). Paid trainings and a budget for taking people out to lunch/drinks. Discount of up to 50% on outdoor clothing. Children’s smiles.
 

AmeriCorps Teaching Residency (Washington Reading Corps):

Help give every child a promising future and a joyful, nature rich childhood. As a teaching resident, and a member of the Washington Reading Corps, you will be a 3rd teacher in a mixed income classroom at Carkeek, Jefferson, or John C Little Parks. With mentorship and support from your teaching team you will help coach and support children in language rich play and adventures, with a special focus on weaving hands on learning in the outdoors into your curriculum. This is a great position for someone seeking to start a career in education.
Full time, 40 hour per week position for the 10-month school year.
Stipend and benefits are provided by Washington Reading Corps (AmeriCorps), contingent on federal funding.
In addition, Tiny Trees Preschool will provide:

  • 25 days of training and 1 year teaching experience.
  • Certification in outdoor learning from Tiny Trees Preschool.
  • Rain jacket and pants, plus 50% discount on outdoor clothing available.
  • Full time assistant teaching positions available upon completion of your residency.

 

Lead Teacher at SAM Olympic Sculpture Park:

Be the founding lead teacher in our new outdoor preschool at the SAM Olympic Sculpture Park. Build a mobile classroom in the heart of downtown Seattle. This mixed income classroom will have a special focus on learning through the arts.
Full time, 40 hour per week position. This position has summer off.
Pay range is $17.31 to $18.27 an hour.
The following benefits are split between bi-weekly pay periods:

  • Health insurance stipend: $3,000/year
  • Retirement benefits: $1,200/year after 6 months of employment
  • Technology stipend: $250/year

Assistant Teacher at SAM Olympic Sculpture Park:

Pay range is $15.00 to $15.38 an hour.

Teach in a celebrated outdoor classroom in the heart of South-East Seattle. This classroom is mixed income with half of the students next year receiving free tuition from the Seattle Preschool Program – Pathways.
Part time, 30 hour per week position.
Pay range is $17.31 to $18.27 an hour.
The following benefits are split between bi-weekly pay periods:

  • Health insurance stipend: $2,250/year
  • Retirement benefits: $1,068/year after 6 months of employment
  • Technology stipend: $300/year

This classroom is mixed income with half of the students next year receiving free tuition from the Seattle Preschool Program – Pathways and includes plenty of opportunities for gardening with a green house, gardens, and food forest located next to the classroom.
Full time, 40 hour per week position.
