Job Description:

Metro's nature education team is looking for a new member to provide critical, complex administrative support to several education programs in its portfolio. In this position, you will work in cooperation with Metro naturalists and other Metro staff to support a variety of programs and Metro's Youth Ecology Corps (YEC). The Youth Ecology Corps helps open the doors of nature to communities that have historically faced barriers, including people of color and low-income communities. In this role, you will work closely with staff from Metro's Parks and Nature department as well as the YEC crew leader to solicit, select and serve as staff liaison and scheduling coordinator to ensure the effective functioning of this process and that the work schedule meets the needs of Metro and YEC staff.

Additionally, you will play a key role in coordinating naturalist-led public programming by gathering and formatting program information. You will support staff in processing contracts for public and/or group programs and will work with the Parks and Nature Communications Team to produce and edit content for Metro's quarterly news magazine. Other duties include editing and updating online program calendars and promotional material, providing customer service for public programs, creating and initiating program surveys and evaluations and running program reports.

This is an office based position. Your primary work site will be the Oregon Zoo however, you can expect to spend time at Metro Regional Center and the offices of our YEC partner (currently Mount Hood Community College). This is a part-time position (24 hours/week); $19.32 - $25.88/hour; application deadline is September 15, 2016 by 5:00 pm, PDT.
