Job Description:

Outdoor Educators with the CNC will use established curriculum, based on the California State Science Standards, to personalize their classes for lesson groups of 15-20 students and two high school counselors.  Instructors will typically teach 2-3 lessons each day (morning lesson, afternoon lesson, and night program). The average day runs from 8:00am until 10:00pm.  Program topics include Adaptations, Outdoor Skills, Native American Life and Culture, Teambuilding, Astronomy, Night Hikes, and an all day hike in a local state park. Job Compensation:


Compensation Information:

$325-$400/week plus housing and some meals.  Rate dependent upon experience and certifications - Lifeguard, Wilderness First Responder, Wilderness First Aid, Certified Interpretive Guide, California Naturalist, etc.;
Full time housing provided (Co-ed shared housing, kitchen, and on-site laundry facilities) in a beautiful park setting in the Santa Monica Mountains;
Meals provided Mon-Fri when camp is in session; also access to extensive trails, camping, beaches, and all the wonders that Southern California has to offer;
2 week in-depth pre-season training and continued professional development.
