Job Summary
The Auburn University Museum of Natural History (AUMNH) is seeking an administrator of its outreach and education programs. AUMNH is a research museum that has a well-developed outreach program, a developing educational program (from pre-school through senior citizens), and a few limited displays. The successful candidate will conceptualize, develop, and administer the museum's outreach and education programs. Candidates will have experience in administering outreach programs, preparing next generation science standards-aligned lesson plans for formal and/or informal education programs, and experience with social media. The candidate will be responsible guiding museum tours, providing both intramural and extramural educational programs, developing a docent and volunteer program, and expanding the museum's social media presence. Minimum Qualifications
Entry into applicant pool requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Education, Biological Sciences or a related field plus four (4) years of experience in the design, implementation, delivery and management of educational programs/services. Excellent communication and interpersonal communication skills are also required. Employer will consider advanced degrees in lieu of experience.
Desired Qualifications
Familiarity in building museum displays and a Master's Degree from an accredited institution in Education, Biological Sciences or related field.
