The 11th annual Ocean Awareness Contest, THE FUNNY THING ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE, invites students ages 11-18 from around the world to create visual art, film, music, poetry, web-based media, dance, music, or creative writing that challenges students to learn about climate change and its impact on the ocean, and to explore new ways to communicate the urgency of the climate crisis. Bow Seat also offers $750 Educator Innovation Awards to teachers who use the 2022 Ocean Awareness Contest as a teaching tool in a physical or virtual classroom.

World Fish Migration Day is on May 21, 2022. To help celebrate this year, we are hosting the first ever Fish Flag Contest! For this special award, students are encouraged to create fish flag of any shape, size, and material depicting a migratory fish species! This award highlights the diversity of migratory fish from across the world and the importance of the free-flowing rivers they rely on. This global contest is open to all young artists ages 5-18 and is free to enter. The contest aims to connect young people to the outdoors, fish, and conservation through art.

The Feather River Land Trust and its Learning Landscapes program is releasing an RFP related to a 360 degree program audit tool and process. After initial vetting and design with FRLT it would be piloted with a leadership cohort of 15 land trusts, and finally scaled to the 200+ programs. This collective evaluation process is funded for 3 years. We seek proposals from national evaluators interested in working within the land trust programs, a subset of the larger EE field.
