The Appalachian Ohio Restore Corps (AORC) mobilizes nearly 75 AmeriCorps members to help educate youth and the public, restore, conserve, and preserve environmental resources, improve food distribution to people in poverty, support reduced waste and recycling initiatives, and support economic resilience through climate mitigation and sustainability projects. Appalachian Ohio Restore Corps members serve a term of 12 months accumulating a total of 1,700 hours of community based service, an average service load of 35 hours a week. AORC runs August 29, 2022 to August 19, 2023.

Calling green educators who want to learn from others in central Appalachia and Ohio! Virtual and small group outdoor sessions run Oct. 27 to Nov. 21.Topics include land labs, water and phenology with local scientists, and interdisciplinary environmental education beyond the science classroom.

Join Rural Action's Ohio Stream Restore Corps Americorps program for a 12-month position focused on Environmental Education. Three positions are open and we are accepting applications until July 15th. Positions begin in mid-August and last one year, with the option to commit for a second year. The Ohio Stream Restore Corps (OSRC) is a program administered by Rural Action that places 26 AmeriCorps into communities throughout Appalachian Ohio to perform direct service related to watershed restoration, environmental education, eco and heritage tourism, and zero waste. Members are placed into programs of Rural Action and with local partner organizations to better serve the needs of local communities.
