NEEF’s 12th annual National Environmental Education Week (EE Week), taking place April 17-23, 2016, and sponsored by Samsung, is the nation’s largest celebration of environmental education (EE). EE Week inspires environmental learning among K-12 students, and beyond, with EE events and projects taking place across the country in classrooms, after-school clubs, parks, aquariums, museums, and more. Each year, this celebration provides opportunities for formal and informal environmental educators nationwide to engage with the national EE community, learn from each other, celebrate achievements, and highlight the important benefits and rewards of environmental education.

This celebration is open to anyone who is offering or supporting environmental education: raising awareness, building knowledge and/or motivating others of any age to learn more about, and care for, the planet. Join the community and take part in the celebration, happening over the week of Earth Day, by registering your existing or new event, field trip, or project as an EE Week event at NEEFusa.org/eeweek. This free registration allows educators to receive discounts on well-known EE publications and become eligible for certain NEEF grants and EE Week contests.

Follow NEEF on Twitter and Facebook for the latest updates and engage with the community through the hashtag ‘#EEWeek.’ Free materials and educator toolkits are always available on the NEEF Greening STEM Learning Center. We hope you’ll join in celebrating a simple equation: Environmental Education + Everyone = A Brighter Future for All.
