Ocean Conservation Administration (OCA) of Taiwan collaborates with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) and the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) through the Global Environmental Education Partnership (GEEP) to launch the 2025 Youth Innovation Challenge (YIC)! Now in its fifth year, YIC invites young people aged 15 to 30 from around the world to participate and share their creative solutions to ocean conservation issues. This challenge encourages global youth to spark awareness, inspire innovation, and take action for the future of our ocean.
Three outstanding winners will be awarded USD $1,000 each and will be invited to Taiwan to attend an awards ceremony and a collaborative workshop hosted by OCA. Join this global movement and protect our blue planet with your ideas. Let your creativity drive sustainable change for our ocean!
The YIC is now accepting submissions (in English) through June 30, 2025. This year’s challenge invites young people to create short videos focused on one of the following themes: marine debris, marine biodiversity and conservation, or public-private partnerships. Young individuals who are passionate about ocean issues and eager to contribute to marine conservation are encouraged to participate and share their innovative ideas! The ocean connects the entire planet and is a shared asset of all humankind. In light of growing environmental challenges, we call on young people around the world to bring fresh, innovative thinking to address pressing marine issues. Through concrete actions and creative solutions, youth can play a vital role in advancing ocean conservation.
We sincerely invite young individuals from all walks of life to actively participate in protecting our blue planet. Together, let us work toward a vision of a cleaner, more sustainable ocean for future generations.
