Favour Eragbie is a community conservationist empowering youth to reduce environmental degradation in underserved communities in Africa.

About Favour's Community Action Project (CAP)

My project will bridge the knowledge gap among young people in Lagos, Nigeria, by empowering youth aged 11-22 in the Ipaja community. Through experiential learning on National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) for environmental policy development and integration, the project will enable them to understand how climate change is affecting their country, what the government is doing, and how they can lead climate action from their communities.

About Favour

Favour is a community conservationist focused on the influence of policy and governance on biodiversity. Her vision is to create locally-governed frameworks that support sustainable development while safeguarding the ecosystems that sustain them in a rapidly changing climate. She is the founder and Executive Director of the Youth for Environmental Conservation Initiative, formerly known as Friends of Nature Network, a youth-led organization championing biodiversity conservation and climate resilience across Africa’s rural communities, impacting over 30,000 individuals across 27 countries in Africa.

She is a winner of the World Bank Utility of the Future Youth Challenge and was honored as a 30 Under 30 awardee by the North American Association for Environmental Education for her work in environmental education. In 2024, she received the Diana Award, the most prestigious prize a young person can receive for social action or humanitarian work.
