About Madeline's Community Action Project (CAP)

Civic Engagement and EE Virtual International Fellowship

Educators around the world are working to bring effective EE programming to their communities, schools, regions, and more. However, professional development or community support is not always readily available for leaders to successfully carry out their innovative and impactful programs. With this in mind, my proposed Community Action Project is a virtual international fellowship that would bring together a global group of EE professionals to support their efforts in developing a new or enhanced EE and/or civic engagement program in their community. For the duration of the Fellowship, I will research and plan for a pilot international EE fellowship, taking into account effective practices for cross-cultural professional development and evaluation.

She previously worked as a researcher for the Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future, focusing on sustainable agriculture policy. Her other published research has explored climate change resiliency, environmental activism, and public-private partnerships.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grow up?
When I was young, I wanted to be a professional ballerina, and then later I wanted to be a neuroscientist!

How do you recharge?
A nap with my cat usually does the trick!
