Dawn Lagrotteria

Dawn Lagrotteria is an employee of the Department of the Interior, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.  She is currently the Branch Chief for Professional Development in the Division of Education and Outreach, National Conservation Training Center (NCTC), and she has been in this position since 2000.  As Branch Chief, Dawn oversees all courses and continuous learning programs relating to environmental education, youth outdoor skills, and youth inclusion and retention.  In this position, she has represented the Service and NCTC on several Department level teams and industry-related committees.  Prior to this position, Dawn served as an Education Specialist and Course Leader for the Division of Training at NCTC.  Her federal career spans 29 years between the Service (20 years) and the Department of Agriculture (9 years).  Dawn began her career as an educator where she taught at 2 community colleges. She holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Business Education and graduate credits from Hood College, Frederick, Maryland, and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.  Dawn has completed the DOI Diversity Change Agent (DCA) training.  As a DCA, Dawn facilitates and supports diversity and inclusion activities at NCTC and serves on the Service’s DCA Change Agent Support Team at the national level.
