About  Javan's Community Action Project (CAP)

My community Action Project is called 100 Acts of Kindness, an environmental challenge that invites people to slow down, pay attention, and take meaningful action for the planet in everyday ways.

The idea is simple: participants commit to completing 100 acts of kindness toward the environment.  These acts can be small or large, such as reducing waste, planting trees, restoring mangroves, conserving water, educating others, or caring for natural spaces in their community.  The focus is not perfection, but consistency and intention. By breaking environmental care into manageable actions, the project helps people realize that positive change is possible through daily choices.

What makes this project unique is its creative element. After completing their acts, participants are invited to reflect on their  journey by creating a piece of art inspired by their experience. This could be music, spoken word, visual art, video, or any creative expression that helps tell their story. Creativity becomes a tool for reflection, connection, and sharing impact with others.

100 Acts of Kindness is rooted in community, storytelling, and hope.  It encourages people, especially young people, to see themselves as active caretakers of their environment and to recognize that collective, small actions can lead to meaningful change. The project aims to build environmental awareness, personal responsibility, and a deeper emotional connection to nature.

More About Me

What is one fun fact people should know about you?

I am a storyteller, who is using my talent to tell the story of the environment.

If you could tell your past self one thing, what would it be?

I’d tell myself to do the best I can in whatever I choose to do. Go all in.

What is your favorite memory of being in nature?

My favorite memory is scuba diving among the coral reefs in The Bahamas. It's a totally different world underwater.
