Megan Ennes, Ph.D. is an assistant curator of museum education at the University of Florida and the Director of the Thompson Earth Systems Institute in the Florida Museum of Natural History. Her work with ee360+ focuses on teaching educators how to facilitate civic action projects for the environment with youth so they feel empowered to make change in their communities. She has trained more than 100 educators on how to use the new CAPE curriculum and conducted research on the educator and youth outcomes. “I believe this work is vital to helping address the eco- and climate-anxiety our youth are facing through community level actions that help them learn how to be engaged in their communities for a better future.
A former museum educator, Megan’s research focuses on how to support the professional development of museum educators. She also examines how museums can support the science interests and career aspirations of underrepresented groups through family programming and civic engagement. ”
