Preethi Mony brings to her role as EE Grant and Program Manager varied experience in environmental education, evaluation, and grants from her work in India and the US.
Preethi started out as an environmental educator, designing and conducting nature camps for children and training educators in India. She is passionate about free choice learning at zoos, parks and museums, and has extensive experience as an evaluator with zoos and museums in the Central Ohio region. In addition to work in the field of environment, Preethi also has experience supporting federal, state, and private grants, through her work at the Grants Office at the Columbus State Community College. Preethi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences from the University of Mumbai, a Master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Ecology from the University of Florida, and a PhD in Natural Resources from The Ohio State University.
Preethi sees herself as a lifelong learner, and loves to find themes and principles that tie together her interests in gardening, baking, and needlework with her work and academic interests. She lives just north of Columbus, Ohio, with her 3 kids and her long-suffering husband who patiently puts up with all her hobbies without too much grumbling.
