2024–2025 Grantees

Meet the 2024–2025 grantees of the eeBLUE 21st CCLC Watershed STEM Education Partnership Grants Program. Introduced in 2020, these grants are designed to support local Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) and their students. The current funding cycle spans from 2024 to 2025, with 12 selected projects serving students across 11 states, ranging from Hawai'i to Maine.

January 2025: "From Classroom to Creek" by Noah Slager, program manager at Earth Team
For Earth Team interns, addressing the challenges of the 21st century starts right at home. Read the inaugural post of eeBLUE's Watershed Chronicles to learn how Earth Team is partnering with local government agencies and organizations to deliver impactful projects to high schools across California.

February 2025: "School Grounds to Sound" by Dana Packer, grants and special programs at EdAdvance
Through exciting hands-on experiences like investigating the quality of their local waterways and participating in a stewardship project, students in the School Grounds to Sound program discover new possibilities in the natural world, transforming curiosity into action and learning.

March 2025: "Growing Trees, Growing Communities" by Catherine Epstein, educator at Boxerwood Education Association
Students at Tree Heroes Club dig into hands-on ecological investigations—measuring trees, studying leaves, and learning about the local watershed. But they're also growing something bigger: community.

What do a sponge and an ice cube tray have to do with tree science? Students in Stroud Center's after-school programming are making surprising and fun connections within the world of watershed education.

May 2025: "Going Upriver: Maine Students Champion Atlantic Salmon Revival" by David Lamon, director of northern programs and operations at Maine Audubon.
What if your classroom was a river? That's what SeDoMoCha students explored through an eeBLUE-supported program. Students connected deeply with Maine's Penobscot River, raising salmon, restoring habitats, and more. Read the latest Watershed Chronicles to learn more.
