We have come a long way since recognizing our first EE 30 Under 30 awardees in 2016, from going international to expanding on the opportunities and community we’re able to offer these young leaders. Now with 150 awardees and alumni from 34 countries, through this program we’re honored to continue recognizing and supporting these inspiring individuals as they grow as leaders.

This online lesson plan, developed by the Orangutan Gang, allows teachers to mix and match four activities including fillable virtual worksheets, video discussions, and online research. Students of all educational levels can learn about orangutans and palm oil and design their own conservation projects through a virtual online classroom space.

We are pleased to announce our first EE 30 Under 30 Changemaker grantees! Thanks to a new opportunity open to EE 30 Under 30 alumni, thirteen young leaders from eight countries will receive small grants and technical support over the coming year to implement environmental education projects that work to build low-carbon economies, create resilient communities, and protect and restore ecosystems.

Deadline is 5:00 PM Mountain Time, April 15: The Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes seeks applications for its 2019 awards! The Barron Prize celebrates inspiring, public-spirited young people from across the U.S. and Canada. Each year, the Prize honors 25 outstanding young leaders ages 8 to 18 who have made a significant positive difference to people and the environment. Fifteen top winners each receive $10,000 to support their service work or higher education.

Opportunity

The University of Michigan's School for Environment and Sustainability is hosting Galaxy 2018 from June 7-9, our inaugural annual Sustainability Learning Exchange. Held in beautiful Ann Arbor, MI, the conference features a three-day, hands-on Case Innovation Studio in which participants workshop their existing research/educational materials into multimedia cases for more effective training, outreach, and communication.

NAAEE is pleased to announce that the search for the 2018 EE 30 Under 30 is now open (May 1 - June 11, 2018)! In partnership with the Global Environmental Education Partnership (GEEP), and U.S. Forest Service, the EE 30 Under 30 program is searching for individuals from around the world, 30 years of age or younger, who are leaders in their communities creating change through environmental education.

Opportunity

Participate in a highly dynamic, fun, and useful residential program in EE next July at the historic Hog Island Audubon Camp in Maine. National Audubon Society is accepting letters of interest from Teachers of Color to attend this 6-day program, July 15-20, in mid-coast Maine. Scholarships are worth about 90% of the total program fees. Participants bear travel costs to and from Maine.
